For years now, patients have come to The Michigan Center for Regenerative Medicine after exploring more traditional medical treatments and often being faced with surgeons eager to operate. Our mission has always been to offer minimally invasive regenerative medicine treatment options as an alternative to invasive surgery or powerful pain medications.
A Major Medical Study Offers Additional Credibility for the Field of Regenerative Medicine
While we have long seen positive outcomes in our patients, both in follow-up consultations and in our comprehensive data tracking through the DataBiologics and Greyledge patient registries, in 2025, a major medical study further legitimized regenerative medicine.
The American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP) published a comprehensive set of findings in late 2025 that provided detailed guidelines on the use of regenerative medicine treatments for chronic low back pain. These guidelines were developed by a team of experts from all across the country, and we’re extremely excited that three of those physicians were from our own clinic.
Three Michigan Center for Regenerative Medicine Physicians Named as Contributing Authors
Dr. Tom Nabity, Dr. John Santa Ana, and Dr. Robert Farhat were all named as contributors who appeared in the journal Pain Physician. For a regenerative medicine clinic to have three contributing authors shows our commitment to tracking patient outcomes and a level of expertise in orthobiologics that is among the best of the best, not just in Michigan but across the country as well.
Why Is this Important?
These ASIPP guidelines show that the broader medical community is beginning to take note of regenerative therapies related to chronic lower back pain. This increased visibility will now change the way physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and pain specialists advise their patients who may be dealing with lower back pain. Furthermore, these updated guidelines will now carry the names of three physicians from our team here at The Michigan Center for Regenerative Medicine.
What This Means for Patients Dealing With Chronic Low Back Pain?
If you’ve been dealing with chronic low back pain and aren’t seeing the results that you expect, this study shows that regenerative medicine treatment options should be a part of the conversation. Thanks to the backing of the ASIPP, we are now more committed than ever to continue helping our patients leverage the benefits found in their own bodies, thanks to the wide variety of regenerative medicine treatments now at our disposal.
