“Dr. Santa Ana was an answer to a prayer. I had been rejected from spine surgery (rods and screws and such) due to bad reactions to medications and similar pain medication. Desperate to be out of pain from sciatica and arthritis in my back, my wife turned to the internet and searched “alternative medicine for back pain”. Not too long ago, I was in your office in near tears because I could barely walk let alone swing a golf club. “I have degenerative arthritis of the spine, which is very debilitating and painful. Prior to having the my stem cell transplant I was in excruciating pain unable to get up or down from the pain. I was taking Vicodin to the point it scared me but at least I was able to stand the pain. I tried ever kind of treatment that was offered, but all were short term relief. I had the stem cell procedure 10 months ago, it was painful for the first couple of days which was explained to me in detail prior to the procedure by Dr Nabity. “In my late 30’s I started to notice a gradual hair loss that accelerated in my early 40’s. I looked into different transplant techniques and all seemed fairly invasive and expensive. “As a gym owner and fitness professional with an injury to my lower back, I spent a lot of time searching for someone that I trusted. I had been to several doctors, done physical therapy, and done some alternative therapy methods.I used to have extreme nerve pain in my SI joint, that shot through me making me break out in a sweat. Being someone that understands body mechanics and mobility, I knew that just pain meds, or more PT were not going to make a difference.
Dr. Nabity first correctly diagnosed my issue with the right tests. He genuinely felt bad that I was in pain. Most doctors would immediately offer pain medication with horrible side effects…he did not. He wanted to get to the “root” of the problem, and that’s when I knew that he was the right Dr. He discussed options with me, on what he thought was the right course of action.
He recommended PRP injections, which I was familiar with. I had researched and read, that many athletes had used this technique with great success. Dr. Nabity thought that I would be a good candidate. I did one injection as planned, and although I did not feel 100% better at the 8 week check up, was feeling VERY much better after 10 weeks. This injury was years old, and I probably should have done this type of injection much earlier. I would highly recommend Dr. Nabity for any type of nerve pain, or injury where pain is ongoing. He, along with his staff that assisted him during the procedure ,were very caring about my comfort levels.
